I need your recommendations please

For my birthday I am ordering several books from Amazon
I want to get one on gardening.
I am new to gardening, live in the city and have three 8x3 beds. I want to plant vegetables and herbs. I live in Atlantic Canada with a short growing season.

What book do you recommend I get?

I like the book "You Grow Girl", because it is written in a really friendly, easy to understand and digest format. It also has some fun crafts and other ideas for gardening. That said, it is more of a beginner book. If you've been gardening for some time it might be too basic for you. I'm hoping to buy the new square foot gardening book, but don't have the $$ right now. (There is an old one from the 70's, and a newer one published maybe 5-6 years ago).
