when did you bladder shrink to pea-like dimensions?

I'm 17 DPO today...for the past 3-4 days, I've started having to wake up at 3-4 am after drinking a smallish glass of water before going to bed! I've never had to wake up at night to pee on a regular basis, even in the days when I had 2 glasses of alcohol plus 6 glasses of water! Plus, I'm constantly peeing. I feel terrible thinking about our water bill from flushing so often

I know this came later, I'm just so surprised its here when the little one is smaller than a kidney bean still!

For me, the first month or two of pregnancy I was peeing constantly, and then it went back to normal until I hit 31 or 32 wks. LOL I know what you mean about flushing constantly and feeling guilty - I'm originally from San Diego. Here in Indiana I have to remind myself not to feel bad because we're not charged a fortune and fined for using too much water like there, but even so, now I try to flush about every other time I pee. Especially since I know I'm just going back in another 30-45 mins. I wake up about every hour or two at night to go, and half the time I barely make it there in time. Can't wait to be done with this pregnancy just for that reason alone!

Yeah, I started peeing like crazy before the positive tests. It's one of the first clues I'm pregnant. It never really let up for me - maybe got a little better in the 2nd trimester, and then worse and worse and worse up to the birth.

In early pregnancy, the urge to pee isn't about a tiny bladder; it's about your overactive kidneys. Once your body starts producing pregnancy hormones, your kidneys go into overdrive.

Second and third trimester, as your uterus grows, it starts becoming about the shrinking space for your bladder.

Poor bladder--at least it goes back to normal immediately after the babe is out!

Nothing wrong with letting the yellow mellow!! As long as it's just DH and I in the house, I don't flush but every 2-3 pees!!! Now DH has started doing it too! I'm an enviro freak though
Seems terrible to waste 2-3 gallons of water every hour or two on a flush!

Me too! And it feels like I have to go every ten minutes during the day. Oh, well.
