11 month old with fever

Hello,

DD has had a fever since early Monday morning. Last rectal temp I took was Monday evening - 102.9. I know temp doesn't mean a whole lot. She hasn't been eating at all, just lots of nursing, which is fine. She's been clingy and cranky but still moments of her usual self peeking through. Yesterday she was still wanting to walk around holding onto my hands. This morning she was scootching after the cat.

Since late this afternoon she's definitely been more "droopy". She's slept a lot today. Fever has fluctuated according to my cheek - I thought for a little while it was gone.

I had a Dr.'s appt for me late this afternoon and while I was gone dh convinced her to eat a little banana. When I got home, she nursed, napped and then when she woke up she puked curdled milk everywhere.

Rosy cheeks, but no other symptoms other than a tiny bit of a runny nose occasionally. I'd say she's definitely feeling worse, fussier, can just tell she feels bad. Haven't given her anything to bring the fever down at this point, trying to let her ride it out.

I have a homeopathic kit, gave her Fer. Phos yesterday and Cham. today.

Have done a couple "tea" baths - peppermint, lavender, catnip, lemon balm, cham. Last one early this afternoon.

Stay the course or other suggestions?

Thanks!

Sounds like you're doing well mama! Sounds like her body's working to fight whatever-it-is off and you are supporting it (nursing is the best!). Keep up what you're doing and try not to worry (I always worry when one of my kiddos is sick ), but listen to your gut if it tells you to worry (iykwim).

Thanks for the reassurance Kate! I felt pretty certain in my gut she was doing fine, then my head would get in the way Plus dh was understandably worried.

Pretty sure she's normal temp now, according to my cheek Here's hoping we don't repeat that anytime soon. Insert deep sigh of relief.
