Good carrier for summer newborn?

HI

I want to get my friend a carrier for her premie baby who will come home in a few weeks- I guess when she is close to term...

I was thinking of a Moby but wonder if it will be too hot for the summer.
I wore my newborn in the Moby a lot but it was in November!

Any ideas-suggestions?

I need to order something asap.

Have you looked at a gauze wrap? I'm making my own for my baby (due in May!). They are supposed to be nice and cool for the summer. If you don't feel all that crafty, you can get a Gypsey Mama Wrap at this site. They are beautiful! But, unfortunately, out of my price-range.

I second the BBB wrap... nice, light, and cool. A SW Connecta is also great for newborns. I used it with DD2 this past summer when it was over 100 degrees every day. What's nice about the Connecta is the great sleep hood it has. And once baby gets good head control it's very easy to nurse in.

I have a guaze/mesh type of organic fabric ring sling and i LOVE it.
