music downloads

ok, so while I was looking for music yesterday I found buymusic.com where you can download whole albums or individual songs. I'm thinking that I can just download the individuals songs I want and at 99 cents seems like a good deal

Can anyone recommend any other music download sites??

Does it use .wma files? Because I don't like using mp3 files takes more space on my player.

From what I read it doesn't appear to use wma files and I really dont' need a third media player on my computor.

Dado.... if you are in Canada, how can you buy from the iTunes store?

What I mean is my portable MP3 player is only able to read mp3 files and wma files and since mp3 files take up alot more space I only use wma's. Plus I want to be able to burn copies to listen to in the car and my cd players can't read mp3 files.

It looks like the Itunes doesn't use wma's at all.

Does anyone know how to transfer mp3 files to wma files?

Buy an iPod, Ard!!! Then you can use iTunes and have plenty of room! :LOL

There is a way to convert them, but it takes a while, and I haven't been able to tget them to convert reliably.

Plus with the iTunes software you can burn CDs from MP3s that you can use in your car.

I just bought my iPod mini and I LOVE IT!!!

you can't, some arcane licensing restriction. but if you're in canada, you can download from the usual free suspects more or less at will because it's covered by an excise tax.

We're a very Mac household anyway, but we love our iPod! We got the 15Gb one.... it's $50 more than the mini, but it holds about 3, 500 songs.

Love the iTrip, too!!

Yep we have our adaptor too - but we have the older iRock - looking into getting the iTrip ASAP.

My dh has a 30G iPod - but I didn't need that much room really - so I got the mini. Dh has had his for several years now - since they first came out.

Thanks but I'm not buying an Ipod. I just bought an MP3 player I really like for an extremely good price. Anyway, I guess the windows media player 9 already converts them when you go to burn them because dd downloaded some mp3 files and we burned them on a disk and they played fine.
