How often do you get take-out or eat out somewhere?

We eat out about once a month, and get take out about the same.

We eat out once a week as a general rule. We like individual ethnic restaurants, mostly. We don't often eat at chains, except occasionally Logan's Roadhouse (for their ribs). Within about a 20 minute drive we have Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian, French, Japanese, Thai, American (one a steakhouse and one a seafood restaurant), and a gourmet locally-owned pizza joint that all serve fresh food. We don't eat any fast food... if we get take-out, it's from one of these places and it replaces "going out" that week.

Oh, goodness. I eat out so much that it's almost ridiculous.

To be fair, I live in Brooklyn and work in downtown Manhattan. I work insane hours, as does DF who works in Midtown and lives (currently) on the Upper West Side.

It's horrible, because I love to cook. I'm a great cook. And! I love to bake. I really should make more of an effort. I'm hoping that once we condense households next month, that things will change for the better, but I'm not holding my breath.

I eat out/get take out more often than I should... last week and this week have been pretty good - I have cooked quite a bit, but typically we eat out a few times a week (mostly towards the end of the week/weekend).

We have a huge variety of restaurants available to us (living in NYC) and we don't eat in chain restaurants.

I think it is also worse in the winter because there is such limited decent produce available.

we eat out usually once on the weekend so once/week. that's the average. there are some weeks we eat take-out 2-3 times and then maybe go a month without. wanted to add that eating dine-in is a rairty for us when the kids are young.

We eat out about once a week, sometimes less. That includes take-out.

I try really hard to not get fast food, but I have a weakness, and I'd say I get it about twice a month (usually fries in mid-afternoon or a breakfast biscuit).

Otherwise, we tend to hit some of the ethnic restaurants around. We like Longhorn's, too, even though it's a chain. But, it is pricier than our other choices, so we don't do it very often. We tend to hit Mexican, other Latin choices (Salvadorian, Peruvian, Brazilian, etc), occasionally Asian (we have a pretty big selection of Korean restaurants), Italian, or Mediterranean (these are more rare where we live, so it's a bigger treat to find one).

When I'm pregnant, I also love some "grandma food", but I'm really picky about where I eat that out, so we have one or two places that we like. And, they tend to be 30-60 minutes away. Not just anyone can fry chicken and make okra and tomatoes like grandma.

1-2 a month. We rarely eat fast food, but when we go shopping a few towns over, I'll usually stop at McDonald's. Otherwise, it's a local pizza place or a local bbq restaurant.

Dh does eat out more often though. He works at a golf course and eats a few meals a week at the restaurant there.

We get either takeout or eat out 1-2/week. I aim for once/week, but because of my hours, that can be tough.

We usually eat out once a week (Vietnamese or Japanese/sushi) and get take out once a week (usually Indian). Once in a while we get a pizza.

Way too much since I have been pregnant! Usually it was only twice a month...now it's once a week. We usually don't go do fastfood unless it's Chickfila. We do lunch playdates there with a few friends. If we eat out it's pizza, japanese, or subs at a deli.

We eat out oh... every 2-3 months, I would say. Take out, never. If we're spending that much money on restaurant food, we want the whole going out, someone else cleaning up, me getting dressed up date night thing.

That said, we do buy a slice of pizza from a local amazing pizzaria that has inexpensive, amazing, healthy slices for me, maybe every other week? I have low blood sugar issues, and though I've come a long way, it happens about every two weeks, that we're out, and I get to the point where I can't make it home and cook something, I need something NOW. So we've found this place to be great, because it's as inexpensive/less expensive than even fast food pizza, but local artisan pizza.

We eat out at a restaurant once a week. We get take-out about once a week for a dinner or a weekend lunch as well.

As a family, I aim for dinner take-out (or eat out, but that's rare since we have a 3 mo) once a week. DS and I usually get a fast food lunch once a week as well. DH eats most of his lunches out. I'd like cooking more dinner so that there are enough leftovers for everyone to have lunch, but I haven't perfected that yet.

1-2 times a week, but we travel about 1 weekend a month, on average, and then we're eating out for almost all of those meals.

For family dinner we usually go out to eat once a week and pick something up once every two weeks or so. DS and I usually stop somewhere for breakfast/lunch/coffee/snack, just the two of us, once a week as well.
Fast food/chain food is pretty much just for traveling, so several times clustered every few months.

For dinner, it probably averages out to 1x a week. DH eats lunch out a good bit - probably 2 or 3x a week, at least. DS1 & I? Maybe 1x a week, but often we'll go 2 or 3 weeks w/o eating out, and then have a week where we're running here and there and everywhere and end up eating out 2 or 3x. So it just really varies hugely.

It has been our family habit for quite a while to get Chinese takeout on Saturdays and I know that will be a hard habit to change. I have been cutting back on our other trips to restaurants.. particularly since my kids prefer the McD's and BK.

*sigh* I'm TRYING to change our family's diet to healthier eating.
