Help finding a color green?

Im going to paint my little girls room this weekend now that she has her own room finally! Ive already been collecting pink and green stuff for her room since she was born so I'd like to stay in that color scheme. I want to paint the walls green but every color I find is either too toothpasty or too neon. Anyone have a green they love?

Do you have a color on some of the pick and green stuff you have bought that you love? If so, bring it to the paint store and they will color match. That is the best way to get the color you want and not have to wonder if it is really going to match the items you have purchased. Most paint stores will do color matching. It is a computerized thing and it works really well.

I'm a fan of grey-greens but I don't know what shade you're going for. I agree to bring something in to colour match, usually fabric is the best thing since it's much easier to get a colour to go with the fabric than the other way around. Was there an item that was an inspiration for the room? Also, they might be able to "tone down" the brightness if the one that matches exactly is a little too bright.

Mine's probably a little too toothpastey for your tastes! (Mint Frappe from Behr!) But I love the tranquil, "seafoamy" feeling that it evokes.

I almost think I like the Target one better than the Pottery Barn one anyway. It is seriously adorable. I think it would be so cute to do a vertical striped wall with pink and green stripes or stripes with the 2 greens that are in the bedding.

I'm painting my little girl's room, too! I'm so excited about it. She's almost 2 1/2, and has her own preferences... which means pink, and I am not doing it by any half-measures.

I'm using Mythic paint throughout the house. It's non-toxic, no VOCs. They have a kids' room paint collection with a color called "the beanstalk" which looks like a nice green to me. I have not, however, actually painted a room with it.

I wondered about the no VOC paint. Is it still quality paint? Where do you get it?

We used a green from Benjamin Moore's Pottery Barn collection... I wish I could remember the name... in my son's room. I went through the same thing you are dealing with right now trying to find the "right" green. My son actually found the paint chip in the store and brought it to me... lol

Thanks. I forgot that Pottery Barn had a line of paint colors. How expensive is B Moore? When we painted our kitchen, I got a chip at Sherwin Williams and had it mixed at home depot. I guess I could do that again.

Well, I did the Aura paint (voc free) so it was around $75 a can. But I think you could probably grab the paint chip and take it to Home Depot. They have Voc-free paint, too, and I know it's cheaper. There's also a Peridot color at Home Depot that I liked.

Our local paint store sells it, and you can buy it on line from the Mythic paint website. You definitely need two coats, especially for the brighter/darker colors, but according to their website it's more durable than most other paints. It's also supposed to be mold-proof, but I haven't put that to the test yet.

FOUND the color name... Shades of Spring. Don't know if you can still find the color swatch though, since it was from the spring/summer 2009 Pottery Barn collection.

Today at the grocery store, I noticed that the new issue of Martha Stewart Living has paint colors all over the front of it, and guess what? Tons of greens! I don't know but it could help you narrow down your search.

Thanks for all your help. I ended up running out of time (contractor is coming early tomorrow morning) so I went to Home Depot and picked out a green comparing it with a pic on my phone. I know not the best approach but I think it's going to look good. I got Behr's Garden Spot.
