Five years ago today!

I cannot believe how the time has flown but 5 years ago today was DD's first day at home! She was 7 months old when she came home from Guatemala, and now she is 5.5!

We had a pregnancy loss, fertility issues, and an adoption loss prior to finally becoming a family. There were so many times that I didn't think it would ever happen for us. I even used to post here under a different name (Holli) but left for a while when it was too difficult.

I am thankful every day that I am her mama. She is such an amazing person. She is kind, loving, and empathetic. She loves books, science, animals, yoga, gymnastics, and horseback riding. She's a super active kid who is still healing from her first broken arm and stitches (both within the past month!) She has such an upbeat personality and perspective. She's extremely intelligent, and she astonishes us daily with her insights. I am so lucky to be her mama!

She's beautiful. How's she doing with her arm these days? I know my son was going to send her a card but somehow it didn't happen. Sorry about that.

It's funny how time flies so quickly. The second anniversay of Chris's adoption is in ten days. I didn't even realize it until you posted this.

Congrats!

Wow! Pretty amazing, she is beautiful. I can't beleive we haven't seen her in I think 2 years. I bet her and C would really play now that they have gotten older.
Congrats! You guys are wonderful parents.

Thanks!

B--she is doing better with her arm, but she actually had a fall 2 weeks ago and couldn't catch herself because of the arm, and we ended up back in the ER for stitches on her temple for a puncture wound. She has been handling it well but is so sick of the cast now. No worries about a card! Just the good thoughts was good healing for her!

C--do you realize that you guys were the first people we met in person? You were our first parent friends! Gosh, I miss seeing you guys. The other day I was feeling sad about moving away from everyone over there, and then I was feel sad about everyone starting school, etc. Where has all the time gone? It's interesting because as she has gotten older, I've noticed her starting to have a more natural inclination to connect to other children of color. Then I feel guilty for not keeping involved with your group, but we are in Homeschoolers of Color. I follow you on Liam's FB. I melt when I read about M but I feel like a weirdo posting under Liam's name so I just lurk. LOL

She has gotten so big! Wow. I can't believe how fast time goes, I remember when she was just a baby. She reminds me alot of Olivia in her facial features. Not sure how to post a pic but I know I check in here occasionally so its nice to see some familiar faces.
