Why I LOVE sharing my bed...with my baby :)

Because he woke up this morning, nursed, then smiled at me, touched the nipple and said "Happy doos" (juice)

And because I get to spend my first waking moments looking into his big brown eyes while he has that nursing....

And i love MDC because you all here "get it"

i love that before im really awake, i smell his baby scent first, and then wake up to see him ...

and sometimes when i leave my glasses nearby, i will be woken up by a 12 month old trying to put my closed glasses on my eyes lol always makes me smile!

love both of these comments! DS is only 5 months, but still wakes up smiling and "talking", and usually kicking away at my knees or belly. It is so sweet! (well, not the kicking part)

and people wonder why we co-sleep - there is nothing more precious to me than watching the little man sleep between us, or being able to soothe him back to sleep without really waking up myself.

i looooooooove cosleeping with my almost 8 year old because i love the way she fits into me, her cool skin, our snuggles and that face. that peaceful innocent face. i always look forward to most days getting back into bed to snuggle and gently wake her up. she is NOT a morning person.

i love that she loves it too

I love waking up next to my baby too. It's one of my greatest joys and the best way to start the day.

You've brought happy tears to my eyes and I'll start to bawl if I try to write too much detail but I just have to say boy do I get it. Snuggling with my toddler at night (and now another one in my belly) is a huge part of the joy of mothering for me. Now that DH and I are both working full time and DS is in daycare, those night time hours are even more important than ever.

I wouldn't say this in certain company but I think there are a lot of parents out there who have no idea what they're missing. It's HUGE.

That is what DH says that people don't know what they are missing. Bedsharing is the NORM with babies and young children in his culture, and he says he thinks that is part of the problem here in America--why we have some of the problems you see with kids on the news...that parents don't 'get' this and kids NEED to feel the love that comes from AP. And more specifically cosleeping.

love this thread! i absolutely love co-sleeping with my almost 7 month old (since day 3 when we came home from the hosp.). when i can't sleep i just watch him sleep and smell his sweet milk-breath. i can be lazy and i don't need to run to another room to feed/check on him. when travelling he sleeps well because he is next to me even though it may be in another house. i wouldn't have it any other way.

I love that I can frequently wake and roll over just before DS does so he can peacefully nurse back into a sleepy slumber.

I love how when DS first wakes up in the morning, he looks up smiles, then as quick as can be he sits up and starts saying "dadadada" with such glee.

I love that I can kiss his sweet little cheek anytime I want during the night.

I love that even in the months he wouldn't let me hold him he would hold my arm while he slept.

My son is almost five and he still sleeps with us. I love that he'll snuggle up to me in his sleep and mumble, "Mom, I love you." And I love knowing that our family is all together in one space, all night long.
