For several months now, my daughter (now 19 months) has enjoyed the 'wipe, dump, and flush' process of the after-pee. But lately, she's been wanting to wipe ME.

Do any of yours want to help you in this manner? I find it horribly cute, and I don't want to discourage her from helping me (after all, I help her), but I don't really enjoy having her shove her hand (often roughly) between my legs to dry me off. lol

Cute, but no. Some things mommies and daddies do for babies and babies can do them for mommies and daddies. But somethings babies don't get to do.

Yes, you can get my nose goopies out when we have a bath like I do for you, no you don't get to shove your hand into my vagina to help get my diva cup out. Yes, you can help pull up daddy's socks. No, you don't get to help pull up his undies (and even though it floats, a penis is NOT a bath toy). Yes, you can comb my hair...on my head. Yes, you can help when mommy has an ouchie, no, mommy's vulva does NOT have an ouchie. Sure, pull my shirt up to nurse, no don't pull my pants down when I'm cooking.

This was kind of my thought as well. I usually stop her and thank her for helping (then do it myself, and explain to her that I can do it myself), but I couldn't help wonder if other kids do this. And like I said, I don't want to discourage her from wanting to help (wanting to help is never a bad thing), but this is one area where I just don't want it.

My partner does all baths/showers with our daughter, and when she was learning her balance in the shower (like if he had to put her down for a second to wash his hair or something), she would try to "hang on" to him. And she would hold on HARD (cause showers are slippery!). The poor guy would spend the entire time struggling with her to let go and sit down (and just leave his "toy" alone), until finally he decided that she wasn't ready to be put down yet (and so he mastered one handed hair washing).

She no longer does this, but it was pretty entertaining (for me) when she did!
