Does this sound like a chemical or ?

So late afternoon I took an OPK which was very very close to + for these ICs. (I have a pic, but it won't let me upload from the site) This tempted me to take an HPT, all I had was a FRER. I took the FRER, then took apart my FRER, after thinking I might be seeing something faint within the time limit... When I took it out of it's casing I could see a definite pink line, faint but there. I have pics, don't worry. But it wasn't there, at least not as visible as it became after being out of it's case for like a minute. Since I opened the case before the time limit was up, should I assume that opening the case might have made a false + line, or that the test finished developing normally, and the line continued to appear for the duration of the time limit?
This is driving me a bit crazy, at the moment.

To complicate matters, this prompted me to foolishly go forth and spend $ on more tests, and of course couldn't wait to see what happens today but took one last night. The second test was a clearblue easy +/-. From what I hear many people think these type of tests are the devil. But I used one cause it was cheaper than wasting a FRER. I thought if I see anything that looks + I will then use a FRER to double check. So yeah, within a couple minutes I saw a faint blue something. However it was quite faint indeed. So faint, I figure I must count it BFN. So I throw it in a drawer and this AM there is a wide, very visible blue line. I know the rule about not counting + after the time limit! However, does the bit that I saw something there before the time limit, count in that it could have continued to darken? This CBE was taken using very dilute pee, almost clear (which was all I had). Would that explain the very very faint line at the time, again darkening later? It is a wide blue line IRL -I can see the whole line. I did NOT take apart this CBE. I do have a pic though. Sorry it's a bit blurry; kids are very needy today.

These are the first clear, for sure color lines I have seen, from those who have seen my pics of lines the last few days, which are visible only to me, LOL.

The end game of all this is that temp tanked today and AF arrived this morning. I have more tests but it seems pointless to take one now, though I am curious to what it may show, if anything. It is interesting that I now seem to have a 13 day LP instead of 11-12, which has always been my pattern. So does any of this indicate that this might have been a chemical pregnancy (God Forbid), or should I chalk up the lines to faulty tests, and opening a FRER?

TIA. I appreciate your insight, ladies.

p.s. now that I realize, if just opening the test would give a pink line, then wouldn't it have done so for the FRER I took a few days ago? I also opened that test, seeing some kind of line, but wasn't sure if it had color. Upon opening and after putting back together I could see it pretty clear, but more gray than pink. Compare the pic I showed you guys (see the 'I'm probably crazy' thread) of that test line. This most recent one is definitely pink.

opening a test doesn't create a line - I've cracked tons of FRERs.
I don't see any lines in the first pics and I would definitely not count seeing anything on the blue dye test. I think if you saw any in person it was likely an evap? And especially if AF came (sorry )
Save your pink dye tests for the next cycle and don't waste money on the blue dye...no matter how cheap, you pay the price in emotional strain and heartbreak when all these women see these lines and then get AF or BFN on the pink dye tests.
good luck!

100% sorry

even editing I am not seeing a secont pink line on any of the FRER and only on the third one do I see where you may see a second line (its not pink though)

I suggest you add your story and a link to that clearblue test here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?t=1206310

OK I agree it's not showing up well in those pics. I don't know why. On my camera, and IRL it shows up fine. Definitely pink, I swear! If any of you had seen these tests last night IRL you would say it was pink. Faint but clearly pink. I wouldn't lie about it. I am not crazy, lol. If you just take my word that I am not crazy or lying, and the line was pink IRL, in that case would you say it was because of opening the test?

I guess it's moot now that AF arrived, but I just was hoping for insight on what it would mean getting a for real pink line in the situation I described?

I would say no, a line would not appear *because* you opened the test -but like a poster said in your other thread about taking apart tests, it may make it easier to see a line (evap or otherwise). That's why we crack em open, right?

Bummer about AF, Tara.

were they 6day FRERs? You know I had a line last month. A very pink line. I never got another line. I had a beta done. I'm not, not, not pg.

I believe you that you saw pink. I just wonder if the new FRERs have issues?

babygrey- yup 6 day FRERs. I took another and opened it today to see what gives. Nada. Just the somewhat barely visible strip line thingy where the result would show. Whaddya call that again? Other than this one faint pink line (but yes pink IRL) all FRERs I have taken have only had grey line with a hint of pink imagination added except when I have been pg.

Hula- yes that makes good sense. I am new to cracking open tests is all.
