We are. We didn't really decide it that way, but DH was reluctant to tell so I just didn't either. I came up with the name in January and after I told him, we stopped talking about names altogether, though we hadn't decided or anything. That name just kind of ended the conversation. So I asked recently if that was a sign that is our name and he said he'd been using it in his head ever since. So unless the boy really does not look like that, I think we've got it and no one knows.

Awesome! I haven't even been tempted. It seems the more it annoys people the happier I am. Ok, maybe that is bad but so be it!

My mother has take to calling her "she who will not be named." LOL! Ridiculous! I told her she's been named but you just aren't going to find out what it is until AFTER she is born! She then pouts and stomps off.

LOL! OH WELL!

We didn't share ds's name before birth because we honestly didn't know what we were going to name him until he was born. It drove me crazy more than anyone else.

This time around I've been very set on a name from very early on in the pregnancy. I've just known from the beginning that this baby is a boy and his name is Simon. I've shared this name with everyone and boy do I regret it! Oh well, too late now....it's already out there. Most of my family hates it and I've gotten a lot of "Simple Simon" comments and "Simon says" and so on. It's made me doubt the name a number of times and it really hurts my feelings. The thing is, I really feel like this baby named himself...ds did too, but much later on.

Well I'm happy to report that everyone seems to LOVE her name. I think perhaps they were fearful I'd come up with something really weird to them at least. But even one person who never has anything nice to say about ANYTHING said she liked it.

I'm SO glad we kept it to ourselves.

We kept Elliott's name completely to ourselves until the end and have received only compliments. The compliments sound completely sincere and some of them are really emphatic. I'm really, really glad that we waited--and I feel even more convinced that I want to wait next time as well if we do have a second child.

we kept her name a secret and everyone has loved it!
we let them know the middle name but totally threw them all for a loop with the first, and so far everyone has loved it and the spelling (our biggest issue with the name ourselves )..

FWIW, I adore the name Simon. We didn't want two kids with S names, but otherwise it would have made the final list. Go with your gut and everyone will just have to get over themselves.

We also kept names a secret with both. I just don't get why people get so upset and act like you are withholding life-saving information from them!
