Lochia for how long?

nak

My bleeding had nearly stopped at 3 1/2 weeks PP. I even switched to a pantyliner the last 2 days and barely had anything on it.

Then today, bam! bright red moderate bleeding with some tiny clots. ARGH! I havent exerted myself more than i had been with the next to nil flow. ive been back to normal activities (except sex, lol) for a while now.

at first i thought af....but i'd have to have a longer break with no lochia, right?

I've been wondering the same thing. My bleeding stops for a day or two every now and then, and then it starts again with a little bright red bleeding. I'm at 4 weeks now and I think I remember that with my DS it took about 6 wks to completely stop. I also don't think it has anything to do with physical activities. I'm pretty sure it's normal, and definitely not AF.

i talked to a nurse who said that the bleeding fluctuates with your level of activity. and that is certainly obvious in the early days. i am only 2 weeks + out, so can't comment on my experience with this pregnancy though i found with DD that the bleeding just stopped at about 4 weeks. no recurrence. but then, the body is not reliable! it always changes its mind!

NAK, as always...

My lochia's gone now (Cecilia is a month old tomorrow!) but for the last two weeks of it, I basically only bled when Cecilia nursed. I'd feel it coming out like AF then, and I'd be mostly dry otherwise.

I bled for 4 weeks with DS. Then a week break - then my period was back! lol...

I hope AF stays away for much longer this time around!...Only 2 weeks in though and still bleeding but it has slowed down a lot. Usually only get something when I go to the toilet.

i was going to come post something similar. Mine is mostly just brownish-tinged discharge. glad to know that one month isn't out of norm

I can't wait to be pad free!

I'm so ready for mine to be gone! At one week it was down to almost nothing, but then it would randomly come back in red gushes. Midwife said that was normal.

At 2 weeks, almost 3, it's very light. It was just brown/yellow discharge until yesterday when I got some red. Now I have a string of dark red when I go to the bathroom and a little red/brown on the pad.

I'm ready to be pad free too. The disposable pads give me some scary painful sores! Cloth is much more comfortable, I'm so glad I discovered cloth pads!

I've been about 2 days without any - at 2w postpartum. That being said, with DS I bled for 3w, got 3 weeks off, and then got AF from then on out, like clockwork.

So I'm a little worried I'll be getting AF again at 6 weeks postpartum.

4 1/2 weeks and it's still starting and stopping.

Just started up again, and it's bright red - is that normal? It had been watery or nonexistent for a couple of days and today, where I didn't do anything crazy or unusual, it's bright red.

Mine is mucousy too. Sara, it seems that this starting and stopping is fairly normal.
