How bad would it *really* be to boil my keeper?

I knew it was only a matter of time, but yes, I dropped it into the toilet. At least it was an empty home toilet and not public, but EEWWW! Has anyone boiled there's before?

Maybe you could put it in a cup of diluted bleach? Mine went missing for a while and then I finally found it under a sofa cushion. I suspect the dog was responsible, although it did not appear chewed at all. I opted to soak it in a bleach solution for a few minutes--I wasn't willing to throw it away! Bleach is what restaurants use to sanitize everything, so I figured it was good enough.

Ick!

It seems to me that I heard somebody boiled theirs and it turned to melted rubbery goo. But maybe my brain is just making that up...

How about taking some small scrub brush type of thing (an old toothbrush?) and attacking it with whatever soapy product makes you feel the cleanest? If it helps at all, the germs won't live for long on it! But I can understand the ick factor.

A straight 5% solution of vinegar will kill 80% of germs. I personally wouldn't use bleach, especially on something I'm going to put inside me <shudder>, but if you do, be sure to rinse it very well!

That's part of the reason I went for the DivaCup... a developing latex allergy and the ability to boil the silicone.

Thanks...I ended up soaking it in vinegar while water heated and then poured boiling water in.
