How long does teething last!?

Please my goodness, could someone tell me how long it usually takes for the 1 year molars to come in?

We've been cutting all 4 molars for almost a month now - very little sleep, lots of crying, I've even resorted to motrin in vast quantities just to get some rest for everyone (just in time for the recall, sigh). We're beginning to feel like it will never end!

I could use some hope please!

We haven't had any teething since 15 months.

But the eyeteeth were worse than the molars.

pre molars were the worst for us. blood curdling screaming in the night as if we were skinning him alive for 3 weeks straight. insistance on nursing all the time, homepathics barely scratching the surface, resorting to chinese herbs which helped some, and then on to motrin almost nightly when i felt it was too cruel to go on like that. even the motrin didnt help sometimes. i nearly lost it at him a few times, and my compassion waned. it sounds terrible writing it out, but i felt like i was going mad.

i am amazed at kids who fuss a bit when they cut a tooth. friends who complain about waking a few times a night for a week or so. my kid, and it sounds like yours too, just really gets it bad and feels it so hard. we are starting the 2 year molars now and i want to just cry!

i seriously told a friend recently that if i had another child she would be adopted and a requirement would be that she have all of her teeth in already.

hang in there - if your little one is cutting molars, you are coming into the homestretch!

I'd say you're nearing the end of it IF you can actually see the bulging gums. Once DS's gums started bulging, it took about 6 weeks for the molars to break through. Ditto PP, the eye teeth are the worst

For-freakin-ever. All of her teeth have taken more than a month to come through. Poor baby.

Thank you all for the replies! I know its horrible but just knowing others have btdt helps.

We're still in the middle of it, 2 have finally cut through and he's got 2 majorly bulging gums. We're leaving for a long plane trip in 4 days so I'm hoping for a miracle end to the pain.

Now I dread the eye teeth....
