We are putting our house up for sale. The sign is in are yard already and a photographer is coming to take pictures tomorrow. We have been spending time putting in new floors, painting and working on other projects. Now I need to do some last minute decluttering and cleaning before picture time. I'm at work now, then I pick up my younger two from my dad's house at 2pm and my older son from school at 3pm. I doubt I'll get much done until the evening and don't want to stay up all night! Any tips on a quick declutter? We've already decided that all things will go to the basement for now and we'll tackle the basement on Monday when my dh is off again. I tend to think too much when I go through things. Should I just grab bags and boxes and throw things in for now and worry about sorting them later? I've already had two donation pick-ups but there is still so much stuff that I want to get out of the way!

I did it room by room but without a lot of sorting out. Throw away obvious rubbish but stick the rest in a well labelled box to deal with later.
For the photos you want stuff to be clear and tidy but the photographer is not going to be taking pictures of the inside of your storage spaces, you can get away with a pile of boxes as long as it does not show in the photos.
They key (for us anyway) was to make sure that we had time to sort the boxes out before we started getting viewings on the house. It sounds like you could do that when your husband is off.
