where to buy/order coconut oil? - Page 2

Why is not using a lot of oil blasphemy, I mostly cook with butter and lard which are both TF.

I know you were teasing but I'm still curious.

My understanding of TF is that part of it is the emphasizing of those wonderful fat soluble vitamins- a stand against the SAD culture that says that eating fat is bad and that instead we need to eat good fats.

tropical traditions looked kind of expensive to me when I price compared- do you who like them wait for sales and order a lot?

Thanks for the tip on ordering direct from Nutiva. I think after we move I'm going to go ahead and order by the gallon- for now I am not getting giant amounts of anything b/c we're moving in early sept.

Ok we probably just had a misunderstanding.

I have a special skill of inadvertenly offending people online

On TT Coco oil- never order anything from there that is not on sale. They run specials all the time. However, I still haven't seen them cheaper than the Nutiva price currently for the virgin anyway- I have bought it cheaper through them for the refined.

For me it costs about $40 to get a gallon of Extra virgin Coconut oil, delivered. Or I can get regular coconut oil (which I use to fry stuff) for $25 a gallon, delivered. Or.. I pick it up when we are visiting family in Eugene and save myself the shipping charge. Then it's only $33 for the virgin and $17 for the regular.
I second Glorybee. I just ordered 5 gallons of it for about $160 shipped (which makes it 25 cents/ounce). We go through about 2 quarts a month. I used to get the NSI brand from Vitacost.com for $20/54 oz + $5 shipping (about 46 cents/oz), but Glorybee is much cheaper and smells like coconut. Yum.
