Hi, everybody. I'm new here, although I've known about the forum for quite a long time.
I'm joining now, because my husband and I just found out that we are expecting our first child sometime around Christmas (I was given a December 24th "due date," but don't put too much stock in things like that.)
We're both very excited, and my own personal feelings towards childbirth, babies, parenting have been very much influenced by my own childhood and my little brother's, who is going to be seven-years-old this Sunday. Let's just say I plan on doing things a little bit different than my parents did/are and I'm lucky enough to have an amazing partner who is completely on my side.
This is pretty much the happiest period of my life which has been some time coming, if I do say so myself. I've struggled quite a bit in the past, but things have begun to look up in the past two years or so.
I just can't wait to meet my baby and I already know I'm going to love it here.
