Yet another names thread

We're expecting a boy in July and had already settled on a first name - Fritz - before we even conceived. I'd like for him to have a middle name, preferably something American/British, but nothing too wild - I don't want to overwhelm the Germans with a name that they can't possibly pronounce much less easily spell. Any ideas??? Last name begins with an "L" if that's any help. the one name that we both like is actually a total joke - Avensis is a Toyota model afterall - and just can't be used.

Thanks ladies!!!

American/British is pretty broad. Can you narrow it down a bit? Biblical, literary association, nature name, etc?

Although personally, I favor choosing a middle name to honor a respected ancestor or loved relative. Are the Germans actually going to be using the middle name enough that it really matters what you pick?

Yeah, I know, tall order. Let's just say, preferably NOT biblical and also nothing too decorative.
I had thought of using Parker, but then I realized . . . who would call himself Parker??? I want a nice name, nothing run-of-the-mill like in DP's family (there's nothing attractive available there) and practical in case our boy decides to switch to his using his middle name somewhere down the road like my brother did.

Okay, here goes . . .

Dylan
Holden
Martin
Miles
Miller
Sawyer
Sebastian
Spencer
Thomas

(Disclaimer: All excerpted from my top boys' name list, minus the ones that upon further reflection really didn't go with Fritz. Some questionable results may still remain. But between you and me, I'm partial to Fritz Martin, Protestant overtones non-withstanding.)

Here's my shot at it

Evan
Mason
Owen
Peyton
Preston
Spencer
Tucker
William

HTH!

Can't do Fritz William...sounds too much like Fitzwilliam! You might need to avoid all the royal names (Henry, Charles, etc.) or you'll risk sounding like the long line of almost-royals.

Um...

Oswin
Barton
Brigham
Byron
Coleman
Conrad
Daniel
Desmond
Eamon
Edmund
Emmet
Everett
Ferdinand (love it!)
Gideon
Graham
Gregory
Ingram (cool meaning...angel raven)
Kendrick
Kipling
Leonard (Leo nickname)
Lincoln/Lindum/Lyndon
Martin
Maxwell
Osborn/Osmond
Rayner
Stuart (personal fave)
Walter
Warren

I think Edmund is a great choice.

I'd go for a name beginning with a vowel. It flows nicely! Fritz Edward, Fritz Alan, Fritz Oscar... something like that.

Funnily enough, Fritz Edward was up for discussion, too, since it was my dad's middle name. But I had wanted the baby to have something from his father's side since the baby will be carrying my lastname. Unfortunately the "cool" names in his family have already been "taken".

A friend of mine recently had a Fritz Theodore.
