normal memory skills or is DD OCD or something? - Page 2

I am glad to know I am not the only one with a preschooler who obsesses...my 4 YO drives me nuts she is so obsessive about stuff, asking the same questions over and over at different times. I will try to remember that it's normal when it happens and (hopefully) it'll pass someday!

Is there really any reason to believe that these kids don't have better memories than us?

They just lack the information needed to process what they see and the verbal skills to communicate what it is that they remember.

But, it is those few things they can process and communicate to those they love that then become obsessions.

My question? What is it about Elmo that makes him so easily remembered and obsessed about the world over?

my child is like that too. i have always chalked it up to her having nothing else on her mind than her own needs, her own little world. she doesn't worry about the price of gas or groceries, what's happening in the world, what i'm gonna fix for dinner, etc. etc.
