pregnant and toddler change in behavior

Did/does anyone else have a clingy toddler/child now that you are pregnant? I think about a week after ovulation, my toddler had become extremely clingy. Always wants me to hold her, always wants mom over dad. It's sweet as well as tiring yet also so amazing how they just seem to "know." I am only 5 weeks along too. Anyone notice changes in behavior with their lo's?

My son! He is so clingy. He wants me to go to bed with him. I have to carry him every where we go. It's like he knows that there's a countdown to when mom will need her arms for somebody else.

My two year old is clingier than she was pre-pregancy. I was attributing this more to night weaning and an overall reduced milk supply though than pregnancy per se. She's also upset that I'm not carrying her as much, but she's 29 pounds and my back is already killing me.

I was shopping yesterday when a really chatty sales girl starting talking to me about the gender of my baby. She told me that if a child becomes more clingy during pregnancy that means your baby will be the opposite gender. If your child becomes less clingy it means the baby is the same gender.

DDC crashing, but just wanted to say it's widely accepted as a norm in eastern part of the world. As in, it's one of the pearls of wisdom passed on to every generation (by females) that young children just "know" when their moms are pregnant and try to hog as much attention as they can before the new babe comes by way of clinginess, crankiness and general dependence on mama. It does seem to be true

Before I even took a test, DS became my little shadow child. He also stopped wanting to walk places and instead would stand and say "Up help mama!"
