Both dh and I want to honor our grandfathers and great grandfathers, but can't decide which one or how many!

TIA!

I LOVE the name Simon IMO, the others are all too common for a first name. Herschel is nice, but it *will* be misspelled for his entire life -see my name below

My little guy is Henry Thomas after his two grandfathers (DH's dad's first name and my dad's family name, also my maiden name). I don't mind saying his last name - Lake. Henry Thomas Lake, isn't that awesome? If that combo sounds as good with your last name, I say go for it. We're happy to share! Thomas Henry is also very nice. Both names are becoming a bit more popular again but I doubt that they'll ever be super common as a lot of people find them too retro-geek.

I forgot to add - if you want to stick with Simon, I also really like Simon Herschel. Herschel is a bit of a mouthful though so it may depend on how it sounds with your last name. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! Dh likes Simon Herschel the best too, and I think I have to agree. Our last name is one syllable and starts with G, so I think it works.

Herschel is dh's grandpa and he's a beautiful person. I'd love to incorporate someone from my family this time since ds's middle name is after dh's brother, but his family just has way cooler names than mine!
