"Water resistant nylon" - what is it actually made out of? Any Phthalates?

I bought a re-usable and washable food bag from a crafter. She said the interior is made from water resistant nylon but that is all she knows, she doesn't know if it contains BPA or Phthalates. Those are my concerns.

I tried searching for what water resistant nylon is made out of but no luck. Only places selling it. I don't know if this is safe for my child's food.
Thanks!

It is made from petro chemicals which always contain flame retardants built into the fiber as petro burns....

Nylon is a type of plastic. It is used for clothing, umbrellas, carpet, and toothbrush bristles, etc. It is inherently water resistant like polyester fleece. It is made from petroleum just like most other plastics, polyester, etc.

I personally would feel comfortable using them for food storage, but I'm also comfortable using tupperware and brushing my teeth with my nylon toothbrush, and wearing polyster clothing occasionally. I certainly think they are more environmentally friendly than disposable food wrap is.

If you are uncomfortable having your food wrapped in nylon fabric your best bets for food storage would be stainless steel or glass containers.
