Need Mother's Day Ideas

I would like to start a tradition with Mother's and Father's day that doesn't involve presents but family fun. Anybody do something special for those days or have some good ideas?

I was thinking about this post and came up with an idea that i'd actually like to start: Having our son make a piece of art for us. Since he's only 7.5months old, i think i'm going to get him to slap paint onto a ceramic plate or bowl or cup with his hands on father's day and get the tradition started then. Here in toronto they have places like this that allow you to make these things.

ETA: Come to think of it, i think a finger-painted mug from my LO would help me cope better at work with him being at daycare.

We're going to start the tradition of planting the flower and veggie gardens together.

I've heard of someone taking a stepping stone and painting the baby's foot on it - adding a new one each year so eventually you'd have a whole path with growing feet.

Baking or making your favorite food - but mom doesn't have to clean up.

Family picnic in the yard or at a park - frisbee, tag, reading...

I love the stepping stone idea!

I woke up this morning to my toddler feeding me a giant delicious homemade cookie in bed. Mmmm!! Cookies for breakfast! Last year it was brownies. I remember when I was a kid, it was always breakfast in bed for our mama on mothers day. I think that kids baking cookies or breakfast for their mama is a great way to get them involved in caring for others, especially their mamas!
