What product (if any) are you protecting your baby from the sun with?? - Page 2

I've been wondering about this myself. . .I bought some of the Earth's Best which is a mineral sunblock. I really don't want ds to get burned. He is very fair-skinned and DH burns very easily, so I imagine he'll be the same. So far I have avoided using anything other than hats, shade and limited exposure. But it will be hot here in the summer and I don't want to just keep him inside all day. Even just gong for walks, I find its impossible to keep the sun off him entirely. . .and I suppose he does need a little sun for the Vit D. Luckily we do have a shady yard so that will be a nice place to be.

My babe is a hand chewer/sucker. Putting sunblock on her hands would be like feeding it to her Something to think about with small babes.

We have an alternate between Newco, badger and UV Natural.
I also have used sun veil products. The fabric is UV protective. They have an infant sunsmock that I'm considering for this summer:

DITTO! Love the stuff. I used it on DS last summer when he was an infant, and will use it again this year. It is the only one I have found that did not irritate his skin. (Even CA baby sensitive skin stuff gave him a rash)

DH went to whole foods and got a lesson in sun blocks. The recommendation was for badger or california babies. I will buy which ever one I can find when I decide we are taking a trip to the beach. But for now with walks and daily activities I go with just covering up, hats, pants, t shirts and shade!

my family is very sensitive to fragrances/dyes/perfumes so even a lot of natural products have caused reactions with the boys. One of the few that didnt that was more natural was CA baby. It is very thick and pastey but its better than nothing. We also do long sleeves when possible and the boys wear hats almost yr round anyway. We also stay out during the suns height as much as possible.
