Could this be real or am I projecting? UPDATED: He knows! Post #27

I've JUST started charting in the last week and I realized that my period was due on Wednesday. Nothing. My periods have been coming every 28-days since my first cycle.

Basically, I'm on pins and needles here.

I haven't said anything to DF yet because he's out of town for work until Saturday. I want to try and wait for him to be here for the moment but patience has never been my strong suit.

Am I being ridiculous? One side of me is going, "OMG. My period hasn't started. My period always starts. Could this be real? It must be real. OMG," and the other side is like, "Don't be crazy. You've been trying for what seems like forever. You just started charting. You're not even halfway through Taking Charge of Your Fertility yet. Simmer down, now."

I think it's safe to say that I'm officially freaking out.

What do you think? I need some level heads on this, since I obviously can't be one. Could this really be happening or is it just wishful thinking?

Test

Well, you just started charting, how does your chart look? How long has it been since you O'ed? Not that you know your average yet but it's probably 10-16 days from O to AF if you aren't pregnant, and your temps wouldn't go down much from after ovulation (for 18 consecutive days, isn't it?). Both times DH and I tried we caught the first cycle so it is certainly possible. I wait to test until I'm sure I'm not imagining things but odds of getting an accurate result are pretty good now if you want to POAS.

I agree, you won't know until you test. Yo may have ovulated late this cycle. I think just about everyone who is "like clockwork" has a long or short cycle every once in a while. Good luck!

Okay. Now I really, really want to test!

Would it be bad of me to not wait for DF? Honestly. I'm not patient. I told my Mom that I was sending her flowers for Mother's Day even though I was really trying to keep it a surprise.

I'm like that character (Will Ferrell?) in one of those horrible Austin Powers' movies. If you ask me three times, then I HAVE to tell you. To be honest, it's more like twice, a lot of times only once.

I'm sitting with my laptop on my bathroom floor as I type this, box with pregnancy tests inside it on the edge of the tub in front of me. My hand is twitching to tear that sucker open.

Do I suck and take the test now or man up and wait for DF to get home?

Test.

You will be able to come up with a cute way to tell him that way.

Ahh!!!

test one

test two

Sorry for the crappy bathroom lighting! These are from my cell phone camera, although I now realize I could have left the bathroom and taken the pictures near a window or something.

Those are positive, right? I mean, the first one I went kinda crazy and thought "maybe," but the second one is definite, isn't it?

Oh my god. I'm so full of nervous energy that my cat finally looked at me for the first time since he came home from the vet. He just tried to eat the cap of one of the tests.

Is the really happening? I'm torn between laughing and crying right now.

Um, going by my last period January 12th. Of course, my math could be wrong.

I can't believe I just typed that, by the way. Wow.

Is it too soon to change my signature?

only if anyone could see it that you wouldnt want to know yet (since you havent told DF)

My son was born January 14th and out of my pregnancies THAT was my favorite for timing. By the time the weather got bad... being too miserable to go out was a perfect excuse to stay home!

This time around... being due in september... Im going to be huge pregnant through all the nice weather!

Done.

I just can't believe it.

Thanks so much everyone! I can't imagine having waited. I would have broken something (probably something very expensive) while waiting.

Now to figure out how to tell DF.

What about this?

DF is a sports journalist. Baseball is both of our favorite sport and his favorite team is the Mets (hates the Yankees). I'm partial to the Astros, but have taken the Mets on because, well, heartbreak is heartbreak.

I totally would but he's working, I have work to catch up on, AND my cat was just seriously ill and I can't leave him right now. DF will be back Saturday night. I'll have to try and hold it in until then.

It'll be especially surprising since he KNOWS I can't keep a secret to save my life.

Congrats on your BFP! I have a friend who is a terrible secret keeper. In order to keep her pregnancy a secret until her DH returned home she told random people in line at the market or while waiting for coffee. People must have thought she was a total whack job but it helped her keep the secret!

Sure if you are okay with putting a girl in that too lol... Id probably go for something slightly more neutral as that is very boy-ish (not because of the sports affiliation or blue but more the cut of it)... and Im sure you would rather it be something baby can actually wear once they are here!

http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/produ...-3974426dt.jpg would be great! its a much more neutral cut.

YOU ARE SO CUTE! I love it. That is practically the most positive test I've ever seen on these boards. I'm a January baby, so yay! BIG congratulations. I'm sure you'll figure out the perfect way to tell him.
