Two thumbs up for Capital One Direct Banking!

We've had an online savings account with Capital One Direct Banking since mid-year 2009 (through Costco's program). Today was the first time I needed to call them and they did an EXCELLENT job handling a special and URGENT request for me. Both customer service reps I spoke to (two separate calls: one to initiate the request; one to confirm) were courteous, friendly, efficient, and proactive. An awesome combination, I might add, for getting things done QUICKLY and pleasantly.

In a day and age where good customer service is rare, I wanted to share some good news with others. There are still excellent customer service folks out there and companies who hire them and maintain the atmosphere necessary to keep them.

Got any other stories of recent excellent customer service?

Hunter Ceiling Fans have awesome customer service.

We bought a fan for our bedroom. About a year later, my husband was rearranging beds, and forgot the fan was there (and on). So he whacked it with a boxspring and bent part of the fan.

I called for a replacement part. I did have to be on hold for about fifteen minutes, but once I got a live person, they were polite and courteous, and took care of everything very quickly. They asked for the date of purchase, but didn't require a receipt, and said it'd be seven to ten days before it came in the mail. It was there two days later.

We definitely spend the extra to get Hunter fans now!
