Here's the story behind the questions: http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.a...81474978222521

We'd like to let Lane Bryant know that Mothering embraces full-figured women and we have absolutely no problem hosting their commercial or their images of full-figured women on Mothering.com. But we'd like to share our community's input about this. So please, respond to our poll and share your thoughts about ABC's snub of the LB commercial.

I do not wear a size 14 or larger but I do think that ABC's refusal to air the commercial is ridiculous and I don't agree with it at all. I thought the commercial was awesome, honestly.

Yes, I am plus size right now.

Okay, I think ABC was wrong to not air the commercial. I would say more but it would be a UA.

oh, my, yes, they are welcome here! the TV spot was sooo sexy. i dont shop LB too much lately due to a combo of being broke and their stores having limited inventory, but i adore their balconnette bras and dont wear anything but cacique lingerie.

I don't wear clothes from LB but only because I'm small. But I thought the commercial was tasteful. I think that there was nothing more racy about that commercial than some of the outfits that contestants wear on DWTS, which was mentioned in the article.

When I am 18-20W and must wear plus size (1-2X) I tend to buy the majority of my clothes at Lane Bryant. I really like their fitting options.
Right now I am a 16-18 regular (XL) and also a 14W (0X) so I tend to buy the misses sizes elsewhere rather than the 14 at LB for $ reasons.
But I thought the commercial was completely fine!

I currently wear a 16, but I do not shop at Layne Bryant. It's not my style and I usually only buy second hand.

I didn't find anything wrong with the commercial. It's certainly not any worse than VS commercials.

Size 16 here. I wear a 36 G or H bra (depending on brand), and LB doesn't have that size (apparently G+ is only available for SOME 38's and above). I'd love some of their bras if they came in my size. The rest of their clothes are not my style. :/

When they have some cute string bikini panties, that's about the only thing I do buy - hate hate hate the regular panties (hipsters, boyshorts) or hi cut, which seems to be all a lot of plus size retailers have?!

And I found their commercial much more tasteful than VS commercials. I am a fan of theirs on Facebook and find LB is going on and on about their commercial issue a bit more than necessary. Not sure if THAT is against UA, sorry if it is..

I am plus sized. I'd shop at Lane Bryant, but I'm a little leery of buying something without trying it on first. I'd have to ship seeing as I live in Canada.

I thought there was nothing wrong with the ad, I've certainly seen more suggestive ones.

Yes I'm plus sized, have shopped at LB in the past but not recently. Didn't see the commercial so I can't comment on it.

While I'm not a size 14, I've purchased several things at LB as gifts and they have all been well-received. I thought the commercial was great and it's very disappointing that ABC would chose not to air it.

I'm plus sized, and shoped at LB when I was working. I haven't shopped their much recently, but mostly because of location/cost and pregnancy. I've seen way worse ads than this on t.v. Not sure if ABC airs Victoria Secret ads, but if they do their is def. a double standard going on.

ITA! I thought the commercial was very tasteful.

I'm a 14. I only buy on sale things and it's not often. I love their jeans since they address the shape factor not just the size. I am a rectangle in shape and they actually have jeans cut for my body shape. What a concept!!! I also find that their shirts are more flattering...sometimes I feel that 1x is just too frumpy looking. But, that being said...I don't like trendy clothes and stick to the classics.

I have not seen the commercial but I have seen the anorexic augmented models of VS. Makes me so sad that is what is defined as sexy in society's eyes? I want to take those girls home and FEED them.

I'm not a size 14 or larger, but I think Lane Bryant has really pretty clothes! I had read about this and do not understand why that commercial couldn't be aired! I agree that lots of t.v. shows out there and lots of the commercials show as much if not more cleavage! Good grief! The commercial is FINE!

I've seen Victoria's Secret commercials for underwear before...what's the difference?

I would love to see women of all sizes on television, in the movies and in print.

I am a size 14+. I used to shop at Lane Bryant, and even had a few of their maternity line items. When I went shopping for this pregnancy, I found out that they had discontinued their maternity line. I was SO disappointed, because their plus-sized maternity clothes were halfway affordable. Apparently fat girls aren't supposed to get pregnant and nurse, and if they dare to do either, they have to be super rich to be able to afford the $60 nursing bra i was forced to buy. So now I don't shop there - period.

So on to the actual issue of the commercial - I've seen more cleavage on half the shows on ABC - they are being prudish!

I wear a size much larger than 14 and unfortunately most of LB clothes no longer fit me. But when I was a little smaller I shopped there almost exclusively. Lately the style has been turning away from what I prefer, but I still consider myself a LB fan.

I haven't seen the commericial but everything I've heard makes me think it certainly should have been played.

The only jeans I own that fit right are "right fit" jeans from Lane Bryant.
I own a number of their bras as well. Though nothing sexy and fun like in that commercial. But I may have to stop in and take a look.
I probably do need some new lingerie that makes me feel sexy. I have a hard time feeling sexy since kids and some weight gain. Maybe something made for a woman with a few extra curves would help.

ABC might have a point. The Lane Bryant ad definitely looks like someone is going to have hot hot sex with a gorgeous woman. The Victoria secret ad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmNEG8IFd_Y) looks like someone is going to be taking lots of pictures of women in underwear. Or possibly watching women in underwear dance on a stage with poles. But no sex. Likely no touching either except for the hair and makeup people.

Okay, kidding! I don't think the ABC execs would actually pick up on that. They're just measuring how much breast shows and giving a knee jerk reaction.

LB ads on MDC are a-okay in my book, if they were in my price range and sold bras my size I'd buy from them.

My first thought? Not every size 14 is a double D cup (or larger). I'm not all that familiar with Lane Bryant but RTW and the media is very skewed when it comes to the female body. The only retailers that I know of that gets it right is the bridal industry. Their sizes are based on real measurements, not the price tag. And not all petit women have narrow shoulders.
