i live on a wooded lot in pa and we are planning LOTS of clearing of the underbrush this year. that means tons of ticks (deer ones too) what can i use to protect my boys (10 months old and soon-to-be 5 year old)?

also - any advice for good, chemical free sunscreen??? planning to be at beach alot too!

thanks,

No product can protect you from ticks as well as checking for ticks when you go in for the night.

for sunscreen, I haven't researched totally just yet, but I will look at Aubrey Organics, and Earth Mama Angel Baby, and Erbaviva for natural sunscreens when it's time to buy.

We use minimal sunscreen and we wear long sleeve light weight clothing and go out on non peek times of the day (so we would go swim at 4 instead of noon)

Summer? Does that come after the snow flurries stop? Chicago has snow flurries yesterday! Boo-hoo...

We use some Burts Bees insect repellant with lemongrass. It smells great.

Aubrey Organics kids sunblock and eucalyptus EO(mixed with almond oil of course, then shaken and sprayed from a squirt bottle) for us. Long sleeves, long pants, non-peak hours of the day.

As I understand it, tea tree oil and cedarwood are good for repelling insects, in addition to eucalyptus. I'd mix any of these with some oil and spray it on.
