Softening new wrap - Help!

I received my new gypsymama Bali breeze yesterday and it is quite rough and scratched ds's face where he rubbed against it. I love the wrap, so nice and cool to wear in the heat! I washed it last night and it is hanging to dry, but seems even rougher. So besides multiple washings, any hints on how I can soften it faster??

Thanks!

Going to try to borrow an iron first, the gypsymama site is not pro dryer and the wrap was expensive so I am worried about ruining it.

I tumble mine with no heat and a pair of dryer balls.

Braid it, sit on it, put it under your sheet and sleep on it I think the BB doesn't get as soft as many wraps do, but all of that should help.

I really wish I had known how rough it would be! Ds`s chin is scratched raw. Now I am just tucking a receiving blanket over where it contacts skin.

eta: will try the above as well!

What kind of wrap is it? If it's all cotton, then it will be totally fine to go in a cool dryer.

It is cotton gauze, it went through the dryer yesterday and is a smidge softer now. Will keep working on it.
