poems/songs for birth blessing?

I'm hosting a birth blessing for a neighbor, and would love suggestions of poems or songs to read/play during the event.

(x posted in birth and beyond, but it is something of a spiritual event)

TIA!

Here are some chants/songs but since you probably do not know the tune, they could be poems. Or make up your own tune.

I am opening:

I am opening up in sweet surrender
To the luminous love light of the one

I am opening up in sweet surrender
To the luminous love light of the one

I am opening, I am opening, I am opening (repeat)

^^ I sang this to myself during labour :-)

The River Is Flowing:

The river is flowing (or: The river She is flowing)
Flowing and growing
The river is flowing
Down to the sea
Mother carry me
Your child I will always be
Mother carry me
Down to the sea

Power Spot:

You gotta find yourself a power spot
Bring along a spoon and cooking pot
Bring air, bring fire, bring water, bring earth
And a new Universe will birth (repeat)

Here is a link to a site called Birth Beads with information about Blessing Way ceremonies - chants and songs:

The Woman Am I song and The Circle Is Open are very popular in my area.

Good luck and enjoy!!
