Woodruff?

Woodruff is so pretty and I planted just one plant a couple years ago and now well...it is a bit of a mess.

Besides smelling really nice does it have any other use?

I can't describe the scent.

What do you mean it's a mess? Is it spreading too much? You can mow it.

I think some make wine from it.

It is in my garden, I can't mow it there.

It seems to spread like mint does only more slowly.

Could you use a pair of shears/scissors to cut it down, sorta like mowing by hand?

abimommy, woodruff has very shallow roots. Just rip it out where you don't want it. You could pot some & give it to friends or sell it at a yardsale. It's an effective ground cover, a naturalized "native". Don't be afraid to walk on it either, it will take it or die.
