Religious Exemption

I need a religious exemption for a home daycare in Maryland. Thanks

You will have to get one from the health department. The daycare doesn't have to accept an exemption unless they receive funding from the gov. Most centers do, but private home daycares might not. Anyways here is the wording:

Using the form provided by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, a student whose parent or
guardian objects to immunization on the ground that the immunization conflicts with the parent's or guardian's
bona fide religious beliefs and practices is exempt from the requirement to present a physician's certificate of
immunization in order that the student be admitted to school.

If they are licensed they would have to accept exemptions because they are subject to the vaccine law just as schools are. If they are more of a babysitter/casual operation then I guess they can do what they like.

44 Admission to Care.


A. An operator may not admit a child to a center for child care or allow a child to remain in care unless the operator has:

(3) Received evidence, on a form supplied or approved by the office, that:

(a) The child has had immunizations appropriate for the child's age;
(b) The child has had at least one dose of each vaccine appropriate for age before entry and is scheduled to complete the required immunizations;
(c) A licensed physician or a health officer has determined that immunization is medically contraindicated according to accepted medical standards; or
(d) The parent objects to the child's immunization because it conflicts with the parent's bona fide religious beliefs and practices;
