Since soy isoflavones works like Clomid. Could it also affect your lining? Clomid thins out my lining.

Love this. I conceived on 50mg of clomid but did not want to take it this time. Hooray for this. Congrats on your BFP bella99

Just want to jump in and say good luck to you soy sisters and I'm enjoying following your journeys! My DS is a soy baby conceived the first cycle I ever tried soy and I'm pretty sure that #2 inside me is thanks to soy also. I respond textbook perfectly to the stuff and I hope that you all do too!

From what I have read, no it doesn't thin out your lining. But you can always try low dose aspirin to address that if you are concerned. It also does not affect your cervical mucus the way Clomid can and might actually improve it. Clomid dried my cervical mucus up completely, the Soy didn't.

I'm 13 dpo today, first cycle using SI. Got bfn yesterday and my temp is looking low (this month it barely spiked above the coverline) so I'm awaiting AF. So frustrating. This has been a long and arduous journey. I suppose I will continue on SI next month. Last month I started cd 3 at 160 mg for 2 days, i jumped up to 200 mg for 2 more days and last day i took 250 mg. my o day jumped from cd 17-21 to cd 14! Not sure if i should start on cd 1 or cd 2 this month. I guess its just a crap chute anyway...

anyone with success have any advice for me?

Here's my chart. I just want to vent for a minute. I was so excited I was gearing up to O, all my signs looked good. I have been doing opks this month on top of charting because this same thing happened last month. No + yet. My body has suddenly said, gee I don't want to O now My cm has dried up and my cervix is no longer favorable. It frustrates me. I was really optimistic having used the soy this month. I'm not sure it's gonna help at all now. I guess I have to keep waiting. Big suprise, right!

iheartmyfamily - Sorry about your bfn. At least you know the soy worked to bring O a lot sooner.

mommytoallh - Your chart does look very similar to your last cycle. Maybe try adjusting your dose? It seems like your body really wanted to ovulate!

AFM, I'm on CD10 and I don't have any signs of impending O except my OPK did get a little darker today. It's still very early, I know. I just don't want to miss it! I usually O around CD 19. I will keep you all posted!

I am so sorry that is so stinky BFN
I have not had success but I have been reading alot on the SI. I think you started on a good day but I have also read that if you take too high of a dose it can affect things so I do not know if you would want to try a lower dose. It seems that it worked atleast on your O day, but it just needs one more round. Good luck next round.

I have a question about the dosage too.
I bought wholefoods 'soy isoflavins'. It says each capsule contains 500mg of soy bean of which 25mg is isoflavins.

Which measurement do you look at? The 500mg of soy bean, or the 25mg of isoflavins?

I mean, if i take 3 capsules, thats 1500mg of soy!

I only want 75mg of soy isoflavins ....

Anyone know?

Hum thats weird. Mine has soy iso's 80mg and calcium not extra soy?? Have you taken the seal off? I would exchange it just because you do not need that much soy, but then again I really do not know JMO.

Thanks. Thats very strange. The bottle itself is labelled explicitly 'Soy Isoflavones', yet the contents say 500mg of soy bean, of which 25mg soy isoflavones.

Btw, this bottle recommends 2 capsules per day for menopausal issues.

Anyone else care to compare 'contents' of their soy isoflavones?

Here's a label from the 'Puritan's Pride' brand.

<<
Supplement Facts
Serving Size 1 Capsule
Amount Per Serving% Daily Value
Soy Germ Isoflavones Concentrate (Soy Life®)750 mg *
(Standardized to contain 3% Isoflavones,
23 mg and 3% Saponins, 23 mg)
Typical Isoflavone Composition:
Daidzin and Daidzein12 mg *
Glycitin and Glycitein
>>

On the one hand it says 'Soy germ Isoflavones bn Concentrate 750mg.
On the other hand it says Isoflaones 23mg

Here is the label on my Narula Soy:

Serving Size: 1 capsule
Servings per container: 60
Amount per serving: 250mg

Soy isoflavones (40%)/Capsule: 100mg
Amounts of total isoforrms: Genistein: 47.5mg, Diadzein: 43.5mg, Glycitein:9mg.

Soy Soponins: 80mg

Not sure what the heck all that means, but I figured each capsule contains 100mg of soy isoflavones. The bottle recommends taking 1-2 capsules each day with meals.

Congrats, mommytoallh, on your early O! for your BFP!

I always wondered what people were talking about when i saw soy isflavones now i know one question can you take this while breast feeding? i saw some at holland and barrettes earlier when i bought my vitamin b6 .
Can you take them while breastfeeding? Good question. Ive decided not to take them for that reason among others. Id like to hear if anyone knows for sure. I imagine that for a short period(ie 4 days) its probably ok provided dose isnt too high, but i would want confirmation.

Also, its the isoflavones that are harmful if taken over a long period because they mimic estrogen. But soy beans themselves (non gmo) should be ok if there are only 25mg of isoflavones in them. My capsules(already opened) contain 500mg of soy bean of which 25mg are soy isoflaone extract. So maybe its ok, but ive decided i dont like interferring too much with my body.

I think i ovulate anyway, and apparently, if you are ovulating already, its not a good idea to take them.

But i dont really know what im talking about so please feel free to correct me.

You should be looking at the mg of Isoflavones.

If possible, I would check out the label before you buy and make sure that there is something specific listing the dosage of Isoflavones specifically. I do not know how Germ Isoflavones convert and wouldn't personally be comfortable taking that.

Amandamom, it sounds like your pills are 100mg per pill, and I wouldn't consider the other things listed in determining a dosage.

I bought mine at GNC, and I know they also sell them at Walmart.

I would say no because my bottle of them says not to take them if you are pregnant or bfing. I guess it can pass through to the baby and there has been some research saying that too much soy in an infant can be bad. But who knows, I really don't. I myself just would not take them to be safe.
