Yes! On the day I went into labor w/dd, I thought no way, not today! I kept expecting all kinds of signs like I had w/ds, like cramping, bloody show, and just an anxious anticipation...but I had nothing. I told everyone who asked that day that it wasn't going to happen. I thought I would be baking her another 10+ days! Went into labor just a few hours after I went to bed.

Absolutely. In week 39 I wouldn't have been surprised to start labor any of those days. In week 41 I felt great, felt nothing indicating labor was coming anytime soon and figured I'd pregnant for a while. I finally allowed a cervical exam at 41+1 - nada, long, closed, posterior, midwife couldn't even really reach the cervix. That night I stayed up way too late and just after I finally went to bed, my water broke, UCs 1/2 hour later and he was born at 41+2

Congratulations! Now when you get a moment you have to tell us why it was a crazy day for LO to be born.

I did have a day like that. It of course was the first big snow storm of the season, it was 2am and had been snowing heavily since about 4am the previous day and they were JUST clearing my local streets. Sure enough, I went into labour. Thankfully the car didn't get stuck.

No more winter kids for me if I can help it.

I hope not. I'm 37 wks with #3, fundal height is right on track, but I look huge. Everywhere i go, people (random strangers and acquaintances) tell me how HUGE I look, and I've had several people tell me that I'm not going to make it to my due date. I actually sort of snapped at the last person and told her she doesn't know what she's talking about- so hopefully I'm pregnant for a few more weeks! (though of course saving face isn't the main reason I want to keep the baby inside)

Anyway, congrats on your baby!
