It all started with a pair of sandals for his first birthday. DS was starting to walk so we got him a cute pair of sandals (super easy on, simple design, adjustable width) so he could walk around outside. The first time we put them on his feet he had an absolute meltdown! Over the course of the next week we tried helping him getting used to them by leaving them around on the floor near his toys, putting them on stuffed animals and even putting them on my toes. He doesn't mind playing with them, but he gets furious about them being on anyone's feet including his own! Then he started getting upset about even having socks on his feet. He's been wearing socks almost everyday of his life, but suddenly when he looks down and notices socks on his feet he freaks out and tries to take them off! Now it has evolved into him throwing a fit about wearing clothes and at least once a day pulling all of his clothes off. I'd be totally okay with this if it weren't still snowing here. The house isn't warm enough for him to go without clothes, not to mention how tough it is to leave the house.
Has anyone else gone through this?
What is going on here?!?
Any suggestions?
