I feel stupid. How do I use cloth swim diapers?

So, I've been cloth diapering (prefolds and covers) DS#2 since February. I part-timed cloth diapered DS#1, but I'm sure I did the disposable swim diaper thing when he was at the pool. And, that was like freaking 10 years ago, anyway. I don't remember things from 10 days ago anymore! LOL

So, I know they sell cloth swim diapers. Do I use a prefold inside the swim diaper? Won't that just get saturated with pool water? Or, do I just put the swim diaper on? Isn't that really like just putting a cover on, anyway, or is something different? Then, do I put something over the swim diaper as well?

LOL I feel silly even asking, but I really have no idea! Our neighborhood pool opened yesterday, and I took the kids today. It's still too cool for DS#2 to partake in the fun, but soon it'll be HOT and I'd love to bring him into the pool.

Just the swim diaper. It only contains poo, not pee.

Will def let you know when we are heading over. I need a swim diaper (of course) and a life jacket. We can go sometime when DS#1 is in school, and do the kiddie pool (if that's what you like), or when DS#1 is there I'll have to be in/around the big pool. Let me know what works for you! I heard Thursday is going to be hot.

(Oh! This is totally OT, but I got a crazy letter from the HOA. Jump over to preteens and teens to check out my thread abou it, I'd love your opinion on it.)

I'll pick up a swim diaper this week. Yay!

A swim diaper is basically just a cover. It is only intended to hold in poop.

I honestly think the things I bought as "swim diapers" are just bloomers with lining. It may say it can hold in a poo, but I seriously doubt it!

You can just use a cover or if you use pockets or anything else just don't add the absorbent layers as a swim diaper and save your $

I'd buy the actual swim diaper, they aren't expensive (bummis makes a great one..super cute prints too), the chlorine can ruin your covers.
