The never ending laundry pile

Im in the middle of my weekly laundry washing and I was wondering how many loads of laundry a week does everyone else do?

I have two girls (3 and 1), a husband whose in the military and myself. Today Im doing 7 loads of laundry. Its my weekly laundry and includes: 1 load of whites, 1 load of towels, 1 load of my clothes, 1 load of uniform/pt gear (this stuff doesn't get washed with anyone else's clothes since DH works in an area involving chemicals I don't want around the children's clothes), 1 load of DH every day clothes and anything extra that doesn't fit in the previous loads, 1 load of children's clothes and 1 load of fabric. Im in the middle of sewing some new dresses for my oldest (this kid never stops growing!!) so otherwise I don't do that load. This is an average week where the kids don't do much outside play (its pouring outsitde), when the kids get out and muddy I usually will have another 1-2 loads to do.

Anyone want to make me feel more normal? Sometimes I wonder if we go through a ton of clothes!

We are a family of 4 as well, 2 boys (1 and 2) and a husband who is in the military! I do a load of kids clothes, a load of adult lights, a load of adult darks, and a load of ACUs. We also have a washer with a really big drum tho so I can fit a lot into one load. Also my kids generally run around in just diapers so that cuts down a LOT on laundry. I am assuming we will have another 1-2 loads of kids stuff once our 3rd is born and we do usually have more when the weather is cooler.

Very normal. We only have one child and I do about 5 loads a week at least. But, DS is also 13 mos (lots of messy shirts) and we cloth diaper which does add a few loads to the total.

There are six of us here - 1 adult & 5 children. I do one or two loads of laundry every single day. If I skip a day I have 2-4 loads to do the next day. It doesn't take long at all to be overwhelmed by overflowing hampers. I'm trying to cut back on how many articles of clothes we all own. I've been successful with the little ones and I but I'm not getting anywhere with the older three.

Family of 6 here, and at least 7 loads per week. It piles up alarmingly quickly if I skip a couple of days.

We have 4 people--2 adults, 3 year old and newborn.

Once a week I do a load of jeans (mostly DH's), a load of darks/mediums (mostly t-shirts and stuff like that), a load of bright colors (mainly baby and toddler clothes), and a load of whites. Sometimes I do a separate load of towels, or if there's space I throw them in with the brights. I also don't always have two loads of darks/mediums but a lot of weeks my DH wears way too many outfits...

So usually I do 4-6 loads a week.

That doesn't count washing baby diapers every other day!

I didn't add in diapers... I don't count them in my general laundry because they are just there I do diapers every other day... but if our oldest doesn't start using the potty by October then that will probably have to happen every day or something for awhile... bla.

I find just sheets, towels and kitchen laundry can be 2 loads a week. Thankfully I'm not washing dipes anymore. We probably do around five loads of clothes a week, for a total of seven loads. It feels like more though.

We are a family of 2 adults and 5 children (and one on the way). If we do not do 2-3 loads a day, we are under a mountain, which is most of the time.

Family of four here (2adults, 2 boys 1&3). I do about a load a day, if I skip a day I do multiple loads on other days. My peoblem isn't getting the laundry washed or folded, it's getting it put away!

I wash at least one load a day... usually more. I'd say we do 10-14 loads a week for a family of 6.

i do a load of laundry every other day, and it's mixed with mine, DH's and baby's clothes. it's all colored so no "whites" per se, though i prerinse every diaper (when they are used--we EC). once a week, i do a load of our linens (sheets, towels, etc). once a month, i wash all of the baby's diapers in hot with vinegar.

other than one hot wash, i use cold. i use oxygen cleaner from the health food store and organic/what not detergent. i am thinking about moving to soap nuts, though, as they are cool.

ps, sometimes, i do a load every third day or so; sometimes every day. depends upon what is going on too.

House of 3- 2 adults 1 kid. funky roommate situation messes up laundry but *I* will wash everything but the roommates clothes. I probably do 7-9 loads a week. We use tons of towels.

I usually do 4 loads a week, family of 5. Sometimes when we have house guests I'll do up to 6 loads. We reuse all towels a few times and wear each shirt and jeans a couple times before washing.

We are a family of one adult and 3 kids and I do about 7-9 loads a week including towels, sheets, diapers, and clothing. We do rewear clothing but we've been potty training and 2 of my 3 get really really messy during the day. The two year old is convinced she's capable of drinking out of an open cup and running in the yard to catch her sisters and we get spills and falls in the mud and grass stains, etc.

We do around 10 loads a week for a family of 5.

Not including dipes we wash just shy of a load a day usually. But I don't sort beyond dipes and my husbands greasy work clothes each had it's own load. Otherwise everything gets thrown in together or I'm sure I would have to do several more smaller loads...

I say it sounds pretty normal

O yeah we have a family of 5 plus my BIL who does his own clothes (not counted in my count) but he gets a new towel when showering everyday.

Sounds normal to me. We're a family of 5, soon to be 6 and I do 2 loads a day. DH is also in the military so I have the uniforms, all of our clothes, once or twice a week a load of rags/napkins/towels from the kitchen, cloth diapers for DD2, family cloth for the rest of us, towels, 2-3 loads of bedding a week (depending on which kid's pull-up leaked or had an accident at night), cat throwing up on the bathmat, etc. I usually do one load of clothes and one load of utilities (linens, diapers, wipes, bedding, something non-clothing) a day.
