
How in the world would you mispronounce Louis? How else would you spell that name? Strange. If you get people mispronouncing a classic name like Louis, what in the world do we have left to name our children that is safe of this dreaded situation? Anyway, who cares? If you were actually spelling it wrong, okay, but sheesh. Not really your fault if people can't read, right?
Anyhow, sorry for that mini rant. Louis is a great name. My favorite from your list is Lyle. I also like Alden/Aldon okay. I didn't like it at first, but I'm liking it more and more as I read this thread.

I agree that Baxter is probably more well known as a dogs name.
Wendell isn't bad at all, but it seems feminine to me. If you're okay with that, then I think it's a fine name.
I can't really comment on Stanley because it's my dads name, so it seems outdated to me. The name is quite popular in his age group, and I think it might be a little
too soon for a come back. I can see this name coming back into popularity in one more generation.
