Next year, I will be talking Grammar and Writing 11 which is a half year course, plus American Literature which is a 1 year course. Should I just list on my transcript:

English III- 1 year credit

OR

American Literature- 1 year credit
Grammar and Writing- 1/2 year credit

Also, is this a good course study?
U.S. History II- 1 year
Chemistry- 1 year
Chemistry Lab- 1/2 year
Writing and Grammar 11- 1/2 year
American Literature- 1 year
Pre-calculus- 1 year
Health- 1/2 year
Italian III- 1 year
Astronomy- 1/2 year
Native American Study- 1/2 year

I would list them as two separate things. I know when I was in high school, I took a few English electives that counted as separate courses. One was even on the novel (the whole course was called "The Novel"), even though the only thing we read in regular English was novels.

That seems like a really impressive course of study! And right in line with what colleges want to see, I think. Are you taking any arts courses the other years? In order to add to the "well rounded" that colleges like (plus, I personally think these subjects are very interesting) you might want to look into an Art or Music theory, history, or appreciation course.

Out of curiosity, what are you studying in Native American Studies? That's a particular interest of mine.

Thank you. I took Fundamentals of Music in 9th grade for a 1/2 year and I took Video production for 2 years, 1 1/2 of those being advanced. Next year for history I want to take an Ancient History study which is literature based. I wanted to take it this year, but I already have about three other literature based subjects.

Sadly, it was very difficult to find a Native American Studies course for high school. I'll be taking this course: http://www.christianbook.com/native-...1&item_code=WW

Me and my mother are going to add projects and essays to it, because it only has about 10 worksheets. It is about Native Americans in general; sorry, kind of hard to explain. I know they focus on some tribes, but I think it is more about European settlement and the impact it had on the Native Americans. I was going to make it a heavier workload by adding a college text but decided to make Astronomy a full year so I left Native Americans a 1/2 year.

Thanks for your input.

You sound very impressive! I wish I could have taken that varied a course load when I was in high school.

It's a shame that it's so hard to find decent courses in American Indian history for high school students. Such an important topic in US history.

Good luck
