superwash for waist?

If I were making some shorties... could I use superwash for the waist and legs? What would be the draw backs of that?

The only drawback I can think of is the possibility of leaks where the superwash was. You could solve this by knitting most of the waistband in superwash, then switching to wool for an inch or so to finish the waistband (depending on style) then continuing in regular wool and maybe a couple inches down the legs before switching back to the superwash.
