Burns on an infant's fingertips

So much for a relaxing Mom's Day dinner out at our favorite pizza place My poor little guy He stuck his hand in a piping hot pizza, and has blisters on four fingers.

Ped said to put antibiotic cream on and give ibuprofen. Hard to bandage since he's 8 months old...

Just put in a second call to the ped because I now realize that more than one of his fingers is affected -- four are blistered and the worst one looks a bit white/waxy, which I read can be third degree.

Maybe we'll be off for the hospital after all?

Any similar burn experiences?

DS1 put his hand on the hot element once.

Pretty sure we didn't do anything. Doc said not to bandage it or anything. It did blister but healed nicely. I don't remember if any of them looked waxy......

You could try aloe vera gel, but honestly, if you're concerned about infection I would take him back to the doctor. I personally wouldn't take him to the hospital but then I'm not there and don't know what it's like so it's really a judgement call on your part. I probably wouldn't rush to the ER or anything.
