first no-miss day!

Just a quick note to say that I realized after baby girl went to sleep yesterday that it was our first miss-free day. Actually, it was 2 nights and the whole day in between! (well, we might have had one ages ago when it was really hot and I think she was a bit dehydrated). She turned 1 almost 2 weeks ago. She still does not sign or signal to use the potty, but I guess she is holding it longer now.

We do "part-time" EC (don't try much out of the house nor when she is with other people, which is a couple of hours, a couple times a week). And I don't push myself (or her) too hard about it and expect to have a couple of wet dipes a day, as well as a couple of catches.

I realize this was probably a fluke but it was still nice.

yay! yesterday was another no-miss day! And I *think* she is starting to sign potty. and I *think* she is starting to actually wait until she gets a pottytunity... up till now she's happily used the potty if I offer, but seems to not care at all about using a diaper, a trainer, or the floor.

and she definitely tried to say "peepee" the other day. She is 13mo and has never communicated to me about using the potty though she's been using is many times a day since 2mo.

whohoo! I'm going to go ahead and get a pottette plus and some pull-up cover/trainer type things (simply covers or sassycloth, as others had suggested) so that we (me, dad, and the p/t summer nanny who starts in 2 weeks) can try to be a lot more consistent when we're away from home.

thank you so much for this inspiration. My son turned one two weeks ago and hasn't really signed consistently or said "peepee" EVER. My dd was a grad at 21 months and a SUPER ecer, so I've been discouraged from time to time with my laid-back little Gemini. It's nice to see that it's possible to turn the corner even at 13 months. I don't think we've ever gone a whole day without a miss, although we've had plenty of days with just one. Your post makes me want to keep going!
