Constant whining from 9 month old... help!

My beautiful dd is my everything. We co-sleep, I wear her all the time. I stay home with her during the days but I'm also a photographer and need to edit my photos and do general cleaning around the house... not to mention pack up for a move at the end of this month.

My problem is she whines the second I set her down to do something and full on screams if I try to finish whatever it is I'm doing... the dishes or switching the laundry... ect. I am at my wits end. I play with her all the time, and she is showered with attention. I try to get out of the house at least once a day because I realize she is a very social little being but I need to get things done and work too. My goodness the whining is starting to drive me up a wall.

Can anyone give me advice on how I can have a happy baby who will play at my feet for a few moments while I keep our house going? When will this whining phase end?

Has she been this way for long? This whiny stage crept up on me at about 7 months (DD was crawling at 6 mo), and I was ready to give her back to the hospital lol! But then, she suddenly got better. DH and I talked, and realised it had escalated over a two week period, and figured she must have been feeling crappy, but when we were living the whiny stage, we felt like she had always been like that. Today, at 9 months, she has played on the floor by herself for a total of two or three hours. It's not like that every day, but I wanted to give you hope!

Can you put her on your back? It took a few goes for DD to get used to it, but now she tolerates it when I cook unless I head for the computer. DD has a drawer in the kitchen where she pulls out containers. I also let DD eat paper if I'm really desperate

My ds is 9 months old too. I've had great luck with pots and pans, wooden spoons, metal measuring spoons, measuring cups, cardboard boxes, etc. This will usually buy me enough time to get a few tasks done. He's crawling/cruising around everywhere, so he entertains himself by exploring too. He only tolerates being worn for a while Good luck!
