stretchy wraps (moby, sleepy, sugarsweet, homemade?)

I'm due late July with #2 and I'm looking for a stretchy wrap. I made one when dd was a toddler (didn't really know about them when she was a newborn), but I'm thinking it might be too stretchy a material. And for the record, my daughter was born just over 8 lbs and was pretty big for the first year, so something supportive would be good. i already have a didymos woven wrap, but I want a stretchy one for a newborn.

I love these: http://www.sugarsweetbaby.com/, but I've never really heard of them and I'm wondering how the thickness/stretchiness compares.

Otherwise, I'm looking at a moby or sleepy baby. I have a serger, so if anyone has an even better recommendation for a fabric to buy for a stretchy wrap, I'm open to that.

I'm planning to make my own no-sew stretchy wrap using these instructions. I've also heard that Sleepy Wraps are a really good brand and among the most affordable of the stretchies. My experience with the Moby is that it is too hot and sags a lot. Would not recommend this brand.

Have you looked at a gauze wrap? They are supposed to be much cooler than the stretchies and with your LO due in July, you might find it more comfortable than a stretchy wrap. I'm also trying to make my own gauze wrap... I've got the fabric (only $2.50 a yard!), now I'm just waiting for my baby to be born so I can try it out! I bought about 6 yds of fabric, thinking that I can always cut it off if it's too big. The Gypsy Mama Bali Breeze is a gorgeous gauze wrap, but out of my price range.

I made my own a while back, but never used it much as I made it when my daughter was maybe 2 I think the fabric I bought might not be supportive enough, though. I've read that moby wraps are 100% cotton where sleepy wraps are 95% cotton 5% spandex. And the sugarsweet wraps are 70% bamboo 30% organic cotton. If I make my own, I have to decide which fabric to try out.

You might want to look at Gypsy Mama/Wrapsody Bali Baby Stretch wraps... they are less stretchy than a Moby or Sleepy Wrap, and therefore carry your baby at a heavier weight, but are still super cuddly for a newborn and very supportive. Moby's tend to get tooo saggy for little kiddos at aroud 15 lbs, but the BBS is comfy much longer- maybe mid-20s.

I have one and it's my favorite carrier. I've loved it from day one.

This is by far my favorite new born wrap. Love it, can back wrap with it, plenty of snuggle, but much much more supportive than a moby. Thinner material too, and so gorgeous. I definitely think it's worth the extra $$ (and they're not that expensive as far as wraps in general go)

Those sound nice. I think our babywearing group has one of those so I can check it out there.

I'm still interested in a DIY stretch wrap. I'm hearing that bamboo/cotton french terry makes great wraps as does bamboo fleece.
