DS6 sleep walking and peeing?

We've had a number of incidents in the last couple months where DS gets up through the night because he has to go pee and then he pees some place other than the toilet. A couple times he's peed on the bathroom floor, and a couple times he's peed in front of the bathroom door. Last night he peed right in the middle of the hallway. I heard him get up and went out there while he was peeing. I don't think he knew where he was. I cleaned him up and put clean under wear on him and that whole time I'm not sure that he was aware at all, and then he climbed back into bed. Could he be doing this without waking? Anyone had anything like this happen before? He's always been a good sleeper. We've never had any issues like this before.

My 4 yr. old did this a couple months ago. Got up and peed in the middle of the hallway. I steered him back to bed but he was definitely not awake and didn't remember it in the morning (although he thought the story was hysterical).

My 13 yo has sleep walked off and on most of his life; all of it revolving him around peeing. One of our favorite stories is of him getting up during a nap, walking to the front door and peeing in our rack of shoes. After that incident we have alway been able to head him off. We just always assume if he's getting up he's not totally awake and stear him to the bathroom.

My brother did this FOREVER.... It's a family joke now. He peed in anything with a lid. The hamper, the trash can, the pool chlorine bucket outside. It lasted until at least age 12. He either quit doing it, or we just stopped caring. I don't remember.

Wow, very interesting. Good to know other boys do this too.

My uncle, now 61, did this. He would pee on the TV in the living room. It is also the family HAHA at christmas time.

My brother used to do that, too.

One time he came into my bedroom and started to get ready to pee on my bean bag chair. I quickly (and somewhat loudly) redirected him, lol. Another time it was a fireplace...

I guess all you can do is make sure they use the toilet before bed and make sure they don't eat or drink something diuretic (watermelon!) before bed. My brother and father would get urinary frequency (an urge to urinate whether or not their bladder was really full) as a food allergy symptom to certain grains. I'm sure that didn't help.
