Well, yes and no. I still have to apply for jobs and "be available" if I want to qualify for unemployment at all. I've got a message in to my law school career services to plan strategy (i.e. when to disclose, and how--yes, it's illegal to refuse to hire someone because they're pregnant, but it's perfectly legal to refuse to hire someone because they're not going to be able to start full-time and uninterrupted until fall).
Still...we're in decent shape financially. I went to law school on a full scholarship and have no debt other than my mortgage. We've got 3-4 months worth of living expenses liquid, and a couple of years' worth we can tap into if absolutely necessary. (My husband is also seeking work--he graduated college in December and has been unable to find employment, and was going to be a SAHD if nothing worked out.) So, no panic, just, well, ugh.
