completely rude - Page 2

I work in the church nursery and my children attend that and sunday school.

I have decided that Sunday is a day of celebration where we eat less healthy foods. OUr church has a table of food too that usually has donuts and I am pretty into healthy eating...BUT I have decided that I want my children to remember church as a joyful and fun experience so I have loosened up a lot. I just feed my kids a good breakfast before we leave.

I would say something like this in person:
"As a personal project I would love to serve the children by finding a way to make the snacks healthier. Could you tell me the budget and limitations and see if I can think of something creative for them?"

I know at our church the leadership really flexible and open to new ideas but the person with the ideas needs to do the work. Otherwise they feel like they are just fielding complaints with no help.

Another idea is to make friends with your pastor's wife.

I know I have discretion to make purchases as needed, and I've stocked our nursery with supplies and snacks before. Granted, I've bought evil goldfish and animal crackers because I know most kids will eat them, they don't make a mess, and they don't break the bank, LOL, but maybe you'll have luck convincing them to purchase something different.

Or if it's such a big concern for you, you could take over the snack responsibilities and bring in a healthy snack that everyone would share.
