I gave my cat away today...

I'm feeling down tonight, so bear with me.

It would be impossible to list all the things we have given up due to my daughter's illness. Today's loss was immediate and tangible - we gave away our favorite cat. I've been looking for homes for my pets for 6 months now. First to go was the dog, and now the cat that's causing the biggest reaction. I should be relieved to have found him a good home, but mostly I just want to cry.

Life, in general is rich and full and good, blah, blah, blah. But right now, it just sucks.

I've never had to do that but I can imagine how badly it hurts. The bright side is that you found good homes for your fur-friends, and they didn't end up in a shelter!

I'm so sorry. I can relate. I just rehomed my dog today after having him for 4 years and I've been crying all day. I keep waiting to hear him bark at a noise outside and I almost got up to take him out to go potty and realized he was gone. I'm so upset. He has a wonderful home but I miss him.

That's sad. I have lost pets to illness, old age, and accidents so I know the pain of parting with a beloved animal. I'm sorry.

We had to find new homes for our kitties (Alli 10 yrs, Andi 8 yrs, Sniglet 4 yrs) after my DD got her trach. It sucks. I am so sorry you have to go through it.
