How open are you around your older children?

My husband is totally freaked out by me changing in front of my 11 year old son. I'll strip down to bra and panties and change if he's in my room. Neither of us feel the least bit awkward about it.

Am I crazy or is he uptight? I think it's the latter

When your eleven year old isn't cool with it, he'll tell you. Either with words, "Gross! MOM!!!" or he'll just turn white and leave the room.

actually my 13 yo is too nice to call me gross, he just averts his gaze if I strip down and always shuts the door when he changes

it's my 6 yo who says "nice bosoms mum" cos he remembers and wishes he were still young enough now that makes me cover up!

I know it's just the way he was brought up. I can't imagine that his mother or father ever so much as took off a sock in front of him or his four brothers. Very uptight family!!

I wonder who told him his body wasn't nice to look at?
Kids get to a certain age where they will start knocking at your door when they think you are undressed as a natural onset of modesty....my kids bathed, showered, used the toilet...everything in our 'parental' bathroom...and they are normal, modest humans now.
Your 11 year old doesn't have a problem: hubby does!

When we wander through the house naked, our children think it's hilarious. They get a big kick out of it. They are 5 and 11.

I'm exactly the same! :LOL

My dp, however, still jumps if I wander into a room naked after a bath, or whatever... he was brought up in a house where nobody ever saw anybody else anything other than fully dressed... and his mum had a LOCK on her bedroom door!

He was never once allowed into him mum's bedroom, let alone bed, nor were any of his brothers and sisters...

It sounds like you have a similar pairing!! happy naked + unhappy naked!

DH is the same, I gotta tell ya it gives me a giggle seeing him covering up with his hand while he does the mad dash to bed from the shower. :LOL This is the same man who saw me give birth. The boys see me naked and I personally don't have issues with it. although they know that if the bedroom door is closed I prefer them to knock before barging in. (usually only during menses) But the same goes for them, if their doors are closed I will knock before barging in. :LOL
